The Neem Tree (Azadirachta Indica A Juss)

The Neem Tree, originating from the forests of Asia, has developed an extremely efficient defense system against damaging insects. Compounds in the tree´s fruits, leaves and bark stop the insects from damaging the tree.

During thousands of years the unique properties of Neem have been well known to the native population. With the help of modern technology, a natural and efficient insecticide namned BIONIM has been developed. It acts towards a lot of damaging insects, which can cause disastrous economical problems and threaten livelihood maintenance.

BIONIM attacks the insects in a different way than the conventional insecticides do. The "knock-down effect", typical for synthetic insecticides, may fail to come off. The insect is not killed immediately, but looses its appetite and cannot do further harm to the plant which will be strongly disgusting and repellent for the parasite from now on. Should these barriers although be surmounted, the insect will suffer from hormonal disturbances which will reduce its life capacity and kill it within a couple of hours up to a few days.

BIONIM mainly works as a contact poison and it also has a systemic action. It is an emulsifiable concentrate of an alcoholic extract from the seeds of the Neem Tree, containing 3000 ppm (0,3%) - 1500 ppm (0,15%) of Azadirachtin and other Neem ingredients which negatively affect the insect´s hormonal balance, resulting in severe disturbances in the growth, reproduction, egglaying and molting processes, leading to a decimation of the treated parasites.

BIONIM is miscible with water up to 2-400 times. Efficacity against more than 250 species of insects. Insects treated with BIONIM show no development of resistance or assuefaction due to the fact that the different substances in the neem extract variate depending on where the tree has grown, different climatic zones and geographic areas. There is no risk of immunity as this cocktail of ingredients, where the azadirachtin is the most active substance, is influencing the insect in several different ways.

According to recent scientific research, BIONIM is not toxic to humans, mammals, birds, fish etc. In the USA, the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) has given its approval for Neem even for treatment on fruits, vegetables and edible plants. There is no demand for residual data analyses as it is known that Neem is fully biodegradable, leaving no toxic residues. Azadirachtin decomposes by sunlight, hydrolyses and bacteriae.

Unopened packing of BIONIM, stored in a cool place, will keep its full strenght for a minimum of 18 months.

Please note that Bionim and Bionim-K have been bought by Nordisk Alkali AB (www.nordiskalkali.se), Hanögatan 8, 211 24 Malmö.

MK 19 MICROENCAPSULATED INSECT REPELLENT SPRAY (DEET)

(Ladda ner MK 19 - Produktinformation på Svenska.)

Reg No. 4674, dated Dec 30, 2004.

MK19 is currently subject to re-registration according to 98/8/EC, and meanwhile not for sale from NDC AB (manufacturer) but to be found at our resellers's shops.

Blood-sucking insects like mosquitoes, ticks, blackflies, etc are causing a lot of inconvenience to people and animals and can be transmitters of dangerous, sometimes deadly diseases. In order to obtain protection against the parasites, products containing substances of synthetic and vegetable origin have been manufactured with insecticidal and repellent properties.

DEET (N,N-Diethyl-m-toluamide) has been used by people for more than 50 years, it is a very efficient, repellent insecticide approved in most countries for application on skin for adults, children and animals. Although it has scientifically been proved that correct use of DEET comport minimal risks to health. Many people feel a kind of hesitation in applicating chemical substances directly on the skin due to the risk of absorption into the body.

With the help of modern microtechnology, we can now offer a new generation of repellents quite safer for humans, animals and environment, i.e. microencapsulated DEET.

The microcapsules which measure only some microns in diameter, are invisible to the naked eye, and consist of a core with the active substance and an outer shell surrounding the core. The shell being porous, it permits a constant and controlled release of the insecticide which guarantees a long repellency period at the same time it hinders the insecticide to be absorbed by the skin. According to tests performed on monkey, microencapsulated DEET reduces dermal absorption by at least 90% compared to conventional "liquid on skin" application methods.

Study performed on the mosquito Aedes Aegypti showed 100% protection after 8 hours.

The microcapsules are kept in a water-based media, completely free from solvents, and offer the user the following advantages;

    Long repellency effect.

    Dermal absorption reduction by 90%.

    Water-based. No solvents.

Less risk for overdosing and waste in environment.

    Safer for user.

The product can be delivered odourless or with agreeable scent. Please contact us for further information.

DR 1 MICROENCAPSULATED MOSQUITO SPRAY WITH SALTIDIN

DR1 microencapsulated mosquito sprayThe Swedish Chemicals Inspectorate approved DR 1 on April 28, 2008 for protection against mosquitoes, midges and horseflies and reduced risk of tick's bite. Reg. No. 4830.

MARM, Registro de Productos Zoosanitarios no 01894-H, Spain.

"Saltidin has been reported in studies on humans to have effect against the following mosquito species; Anopheles, Aedes spp, Armigeres spp, Culex spp, Mansonia sp and Culicoides impuntatus. 20% (w/w) Saltidin also reduces the risk of tick's bite (Ixodes Ricinus, larvae, nymphs and adults)."
- Swedish Chemicals Inspectorate

A modern mosquito spray must combine low toxicity with a high safety factor and protect against a broad spectrum of insects, not feel uncomfortable when applied on the skin and be as odourless as possible. The substance shall be compatible with textiles, plastics, coatings.

NDC AB have always had the ambition to offer environmentally safe low-risk products for humans and animals. Saltidin, meeting with these demands, has therefore been chosen as active substance in our new microencapsulated mosquito spray - DR 1.

In the 1980-ies Bayer began working on a theoretical model of a perfect repellent, a project based on all their experience and knowledge through the years. Gradually, the substance Saltidin was developed and registrated in 1998. Today, Saltidin is approved in many countries all over the world. By microencapsulating Saltidin, we combine state of the art-technology with a modern substance.

Microencapsulation offers the following advantages;

Strong reduction of absorption of active substance through the skin.

Permits constant, regular flow of active substance which provides long-lasting protection.

Water-based, no other chemicals are involved.

    Reduced risk of over-dosing.

The microcapsules are equal in size to our red blood cells (4-7 micron, 1 micron = 1/1000 mm). Invisible to the human eye, they consist of a kernel of active substance and an outer shell made of food grade polymers. The shell is porous and permits a constant and regular release of active substance, which guarantees a prolonged repelling effect. Simultanously, the shell hinders the substance to be freely absorbed through the skin. Practically, this means a minimal absorption compared to conventional application of liquid mosquito spray. The microcapsules lie in a water-based liquid. Slight scent of parfume, particularly chosen as it reinforces the repellent effect on protection from tick's bite.

Oriented studies of DR 1, performed by Walborg Thorsell, Docent in experimental parasitology, show:

100% protection during 8 hours on skin against the mosquito Aedes Aegypti (yellow fever, dengue fever) and Anopheles Gambiae (malaria).

100% repellency during 6 days against Aedes Aegypti on impregnated cotton cloth.

100% repellency during 6 hrs against nymphal ticks of Ixodes ricinus on impregnated filter paper.

DR 1 does not contain substances classified as hazardous to environment or health. Non flammable. Do not use mosquito spray on children under the age of 3, where protection with mosquito net is recommended. Store at room temperature. Shake slightly before use.

According to our knowledge, DR 1 should be classified as one of the technologically most advanced and most efficient lowrisk-mosquito sprays on today's market.

The microencapsulation of the Saltidin in water solution results in the approx. dermal absorption of active substance in our DR 1 of < 0,3%. Calculations are based on performed studies with human volonteers on dermal uptake of pure Saltidin.

Approved for use on horses on April 28, 2009, the DR 1 is distributed also in bottles of 500 ml. Waiting period for competing horses: 0 hours.
